Dahomey is a sand-bottom beachbreak on the Atlantic coast between Rabat and Casablanca, breaking as shifting peaks that favour rights when the tide drops and tightening into a heavier shorebreak as the water fills in. Wave shape is steep and hollow at the right stages, with medium speed and a slopey power profile that suits intermediate surfers stepping up from softer beaches. The break works on west through north swells in the 0.3 to 1.8 metre range, cleaned up by easterly offshores common to this stretch of coast. The bar fires regularly through the year, though the rideable peak moves between sessions. Wave length stays inside 50 metres so sessions are about takeoffs and short snappy turns rather than long walls. Access is straight off the beach, and beach-front bungalows are available for rent. Crowds gather when conditions align but the beach is wide enough to spread out, and Bouznika and Oued Cherrat sit within ten kilometres as backups.
