Paloma.

Paloma is a sand-bottom beachbreak sitting about 20 kilometres up the coast from Casablanca, away from the city crowds and the urban pollution that plagues the breaks closer to town. The peaks shift along the bank and run as a-frames, with steep, vertical takeoffs feeding short rides of up to roughly 50 metres before the wall closes out. The wave runs at medium speed and stays well-covered rather than shallow, which keeps it forgiving on the bigger sets and suits intermediate surfers working on their performance turns. It tunes in on west through north swells, with an easterly wind grooming the faces, and the all-tides bottom means timing the session is less critical than the swell direction. Size sits in the small to chest-high range across the year, so it rarely turns serious. Surfers chasing more bite tend to drive nine kilometres south to the heavy left reef at Stah Bouzroug in Ain Sebaa, leaving Paloma as the quieter option.
