Aïn Diab is the headline beachbreak of Casablanca's Corniche, a string of short sand peaks along the city's seaside strip south of the port. Waves break over clean sand in steep, hollow sections that rarely run longer than 50 metres, with fast take-offs and bowly inside bowls rather than long walls. It works on a W through N swell with southerly offshores, and peaks shift along the strand so the lineup spreads across accesses. The No.18 and No.23 accesses south of town host most regional and national contests, while the section in front of La Reserve often lines up the cleanest peaks when sand banks cooperate. Aïn Diab became Morocco's first Blue Flag beach in 2005 and sits among the Corniche's clubs and restaurants, keeping it busy on weekends and summer evenings. Crowds are consistently high but distributed, so surfers willing to walk between accesses can usually find a less stacked peak. When the W-NW pushes overhead, Pepsi and the points further south handle size better.
