Milady is a compact pocket beach tucked between rocky fingers just south of Biarritz, producing a-frame peaks that peel off the reef-and-sand bottom in a disorganised but accessible fashion. The scattered rock formations anchor the sand and generate short walls in the 0.3-1.8m range, though the shape rarely organises itself into anything particularly defined - waves tend to crumble and reform rather than delivering clean open faces. A solid NW swell is the key ingredient, with rights in particular finding better form at lower tides when the reef starts to interact with the incoming energy. The power profile is gentle and welling rather than punchy, with flat spots and boils indicating the uneven bottom beneath. This is not a high-performance wave, but it functions as a workable option when the better-known Basque beachbreaks are maxing out or swamped. Being a step removed from the main Biarritz circuit means crowds are typically lighter than neighbouring spots like Côte des Basques or Ilbarritz, though it attracts surf school groups given its forgiving nature. Rocky outcrops break the surface unpredictably across the lineup, so reading the water before paddling out is worth the extra minute. Car parking is available both in the dedicated beach car park and on the roadside, making access straightforward.
