It plays the forgiving counterpart to Itacoatiara's heavy barrels next door, drawing beginners building confidence and longboarders after long, easy walls rather than punchy performance sections. A southwest groundswell paired with a northeast offshore wind produces the cleanest sessions. Winter, especially June, is the most reliable stretch of the year, and the wave often goes flat through summer. The beach is popular and can get crowded, though weekday sessions thin out considerably. When Camboinhas is soft or blown out, surfers work the regional circuit north to Itaipu and Piratininga or push south to Itacoatiara for something with more teeth.
