Feiticeiras.

Feiticeiras sits at the northwest tip of Faja da Caldeira do Santo Cristo on São Jorge, a remote boulder shelf reachable only on foot or by boat. The peak has a 180-degree swell window, taking in everything from W through NW to SW. The dominant ride is a right-hander running 200 to 500 metres along the rocks, fast and hollow from takeoff to close-out, with a shorter left on the other side. From knee-high to overhead it is challenging; above double overhead it becomes freight-train fast and very shallow over the boulders. It is always bigger than it looks, and when flat here, the entire north coast of São Jorge is flat. A southwest wind cleans the faces. Tide does not gate the break, though lower stages reveal drier sections. No current is the pleasant surprise - the real hazard is the boulder field just below the surface. With a northwest swell the wave links to Esquerda da Igreja; with northeast swell it connects to Direita do Passe, creating some of the longest rides in the Azores.
