Faja do Belo is a left-hand boulder break tucked between Cubres and Santo Cristo on Sao Jorge's north coast - overlooked precisely because its neighbours are so celebrated. The wave launches off a shallow boulder bottom with a vertical, critical takeoff that accelerates straight into long speed walls, punctuated by heavy barrel sections rather than one sustained tube. The broad W-to-N swell window means it fires more regularly than the exposed outer points, and the SW offshore winds that dominate the coast tend to swing south at this coastal bend, giving the spot a degree of shelter its neighbours rarely get. Wave runs stretch 200-500m on a solid NW pulse, working across all tides. Access is a 20-minute walk from the Cubres car park; paddling out through the boulders is manageable, but the return entry demands careful timing, especially above 2m. No facilities at the break. The combination of difficult access and proximity to Cubres keeps the crowd near zero even during good swells.

Accessed on foot from the Cubres car park, approximately 20 minutes walk. Entry through the boulders is manageable on the paddle-out but the return is considerably harder. No facilities at the break. Free parking available at the Cubres car park.
