Sucky right-hand reef and sand peak on the Taghazout headland, deceptively long with the odd barrel on clean NW swell.
Mystery Point, known locally as Mysteries, is a right-hand wave breaking over a mix of shallow reef and sand on the Taghazout headland between Killer Point and Anchor Point. When sand banks against the reef the takeoff slab gets sucky and vertical, then the wall runs through a fast section before slowing into a softer inside on the sand. Cleanest on medium NW groundswell once the tide has pushed up enough to cover the exposed low-tide reef. WNW swells tend to close it out, leaving only short shoulders running toward Anchors. A short left exists off the peak but quickly fattens into a minefield of rocks, strictly a higher-tide option. Mysteries sits inside the Taghazout point chain and tends to fire when Killers and Anchors are too big for most. The cramped peak draws a strong local crew who sit deep and take the bulk of sets, so visitors need to observe before dropping in. Access runs through the paid Anchor Point carpark with a ramp down to the beach.
