Cikembang Surf Spot Guide — Java, Indonesia

Cikembang is a secluded surf spot on the southern coast of West Java, Indonesia, located west of Cimaja and surrounded by jungle and rice paddies. Unlike typical sandy-bottom beach breaks, it features a right-hand point break running along a rocky, boulder-strewn headland, offering fast takeoffs and rippable walls with rides extending over 150 meters. The spot works best with a southwest swell of 4–8 feet during mid to high tide and light offshore winds from the northeast, particularly in the dry season from May to October. Access requires a 30+ minute walk along a dirt road and coastal track, with no facilities or rentals available, contributing to its generally uncrowded and peaceful atmosphere. Hazards include rocks, boulders, and occasional strong rips, so surfers should come well-prepared and avoid surfing alone. The friendly local vibe and remote setting make it an appealing destination for those seeking a quieter, more adventurous surf experience.
