Karang Naya offers consistent, fast, and hollow waves breaking over a sharp reef, favored by experienced surfers. Located within Sukawayana Nature Park in West Java, Indonesia, the spot features distinctive black iron sand and unique rock formations. The beach break provides both left and right waves that remain consistent across all tides, allowing for surfing at any time, though the waves tend to be shorter, breaking for less than 50 meters. It works best with a solid south or southwest swell, producing long right-handers and occasional lefts. At low tide, the reef becomes shallow and exposes hazards such as sea urchins, rocks, rip currents, and undertow, with occasional pollution also present. Access is via a short walk from a small fishing village, with limited facilities nearby. Crowds are generally low to moderate, especially on weekdays, making for a peaceful surfing experience. The scenic area also offers opportunities for fishing, running, and wildlife viewing. Local respect and reef booties are highly recommended.
