20 / 20's Surf Spot Guide — Java, Indonesia

20 / 20's is a well-known surf spot located about a 20-minute walk north of the main surf camps in the G-Land area on Java’s eastern tip. Unlike the typical reef breaks in the region, it features a sandy bottom interspersed with rocks and dead coral, producing consistent, punchy lefts that wrap into a sandy channel, as well as a swift, shallow right under optimal conditions. The waves are generally less than 50 meters long and suited to intermediate and advanced surfers, though caution is advised due to rips, sea urchins, and rocky sections. The spot is set within the natural surroundings of Alas Purwo National Park and is rarely crowded. Access requires a walk from the camps, with no facilities or parking available. Early mornings still offer the cleanest conditions with lighter winds, and the spot works best with solid south or southwest swells during the dry season.
