The spot works best on W swells in the 0.3-1.8m range, with a northerly wind keeping faces clean. Quality is average - this is not a destination wave but a functional one in a stretch of coast where consistent surf is genuinely hard to come by. The incoming tide favours the sandbanks, and surfers should clear the water or move away from the shoreline rocks as the tide fills toward high. The unusual backdrop of traditional pecheries - wooden fishing platforms raised on stilts - gives Gohaud a character that sets it apart from a generic beach. Entry is straightforward off the sand. The spot sees very few surfers outside summer months, making it a calm environment for progression.
