Jaconé.

Jaconé is a sand-bottom a-frame beachbreak on the Saquarema side of Praia de Jaconé, the long beach running west from Sampaio Correia toward the Maricá border. Peaks split both ways off shifting sandbars, throwing hollow, critical takeoffs that hold best on a SW swell; swells arriving more easterly tend to close out on the inside. A north wind keeps the faces clean, best from low tide through the push toward mid. The wider shoreline carries real history: beachrock outcrops toward the Maricá end were logged by Charles Darwin in 1832, and the district still splits into Saquarema hamlets like Manitiba and Cabanas alongside a shorter Maricá stretch near Restinga. Free roadside and car-park parking line the beachfront, with lifeguard cover and restrooms but no showers or surf school. Expect company on the best SW days, though less than the crowds packing Saquarema's world-tour peaks a few kilometers east. Runoff adds sediment and pollution after rain; the cleanest water follows a dry spell.

The sandbars throw hollow, cylindrical corners on a SW angle, and slam shut the moment the swell swings east.
