Itauna.

Itauna is a beach break peak at the mouth of the Saquarema lagoon, below the hilltop Nazaré church. Outside lefts, reached through a channel, wrap and hold clean surf well overhead on an E to SE swell. A shorter inside right known locally as Expresso holds up to 2m on S to SW swells, without the size of the outside lefts. Waves are fast and hollow with a critical takeoff and regular barrel sections. Locals call it the Maracanã do Surf, after Brazil's biggest football stadium, for hosting national championships since the 1970s and producing what many Cariocas rate as the country's most consistent quality wave, now a WSL Championship Tour stop. Paddle out through the channel beside the peak, not the inside whitewater. Water here runs colder than most of Brazil's coastline, so a wetsuit is worth packing year round. The lineup is packed on every swell. Locals expect visitors to read the order, and Barrinha's bigger rights on the headland are the fallback when it maxes out.
