Surf spot guide · North Shore Oahu, United States
Exposed coral-reef tubing right beside Turtle Bay, best in winter northwest swells.
Graters is an exposed coral-reef break producing a short right-hand tubing wave. The takeoff can initially resemble a closeout and features a dry-exposed rock. It starts working around 0.9-1.5 m and holds to 1.8 m-plus, with rides generally under 50 metres. The break works across all tide stages but is inconsistent, often flat in summer, and most reliable in winter, particularly January. Its coral and sharp-rock bottom make it unsuitable for beginners.
Fast, punchy barrels over Graters' sharp reef demand respect and local courtesy.
