Kennack Sands.

Kennack Sands sits on the southeast-facing shore of the Lizard Peninsula, one of the most sheltered surf beaches in Cornwall. The break is divided into Kennack West and Kennack East by the Carn Kennack outcrop and the Caerverracks rocks; West Beach carries the main peaks and is the more consistent option. The sandy bottom slopes gently, producing peaky lefts and rights that rarely exceed 1.5m even in solid swell - Visit Cornwall cites 1.2-1.5m as a representative surf size. Because the bay faces southeast, it needs a genuine, chunky southwest swell to wrap around the Lizard headland and reach the lineup; it fires most reliably in winter months. Northwest and west winds blow offshore here, tidying up the faces when the rest of Cornwall is blown out. The tidal range is large and the shallow profile means the beach narrows significantly at high tide. A surf school operates from the beachside cafe complex on West Beach, and the combination of soft waves and sand makes the inside section usable for learners in small conditions. East Beach is accessible across the sand at low tide or via the coast path. Access from the car park above is via a slipway. The lane into the beach can become congested on summer weekends. The break is inconsistent enough that crowds are the exception rather than the rule, though on the rare days it performs it draws local surfers quickly.

Wraps around the Lizard only when the swell is big enough to bend.
