Bojos.

Bojos is a left-hand reef break peeling along the fringe of dead coral off Pulau Bojo in the Telo chain of North Sumatra. A solid S-SW swell wraps into the reef and generates walls that can run to around 300 m at best, offering crumbly sections ideal for snapping off the top and slower shoulders that invite drawn-out cutbacks. The wave is slopey and medium-paced rather than slab-like, with enough water over the reef to keep it workable, though boils appear further down the line. Goofyfoots get forehand runs here. The prime season runs April to October, with peak swell arriving May through August. ESE to SE winds are the offshore angle; the dropping tide helps funnel water between the islands, drawing swell tighter against the reef rather than letting it push wide. Access is entirely by boat - charter vessels anchor in the channel and surfers paddle to the lineup. Crowds stay low to moderate, usually limited to whoever is on the same charter.
