Surf spot guide · Sumatra, Indonesia
Fast, heavy A-frame reef barrels with a longer left and punchier right.
A-Frame, also called the Peak, is a split coral-reef peak breaking both left and right in the middle of Lhoknga Bay. The left is generally longer, faster and capable of barreling, while the right is shorter and punchier. Waves are commonly shoulder-high to double-overhead, around 1.2-2.4 m. The drop is unforgiving, with powerful sections over sharp coral, making the spot suitable for intermediate and advanced surfers. A channel or current near the peak provides paddle access from Lhoknga’s sandy beach, while larger swells can produce stronger rips.
