Laranjeiras sits with Cepilho and Sono among the three best waves on the Paraty coast: long, powerful, clean right-handers peeling over sand on south to southeast swell, with a left off the same peak worth catching. Understand the access before you plan anything else. The beach fronts the gated Condominio Laranjeiras and there is no public land passage through it: the 2024 federal injunction that forces the gate open protects the local caicara communities of Sono, Laranjeiras and Ponta Negra, not visiting surfers. The honest ways in are a boat from Paraty or the long rainforest trail from the Vila Oratorio road head, off the same BR-101 exit as Trindade. The wave rewards the logistics: a fairly exposed beachbreak that picks up consistent southerly groundswell, grooms cleanest on an east-northeast wind, works through the tide and peaks in winter. Outside summer holidays the lineup is close to empty, and there is no lifeguard and no infrastructure, so help starts with a boat ride. The sand itself is public under Brazilian law, but the way in is not: confirm boats and trail conditions in Paraty before you commit.

There is no public land passage through Condominio Laranjeiras. The 2024 federal injunction that opens the gate covers only the local caicara communities of Sono, Laranjeiras and Ponta Negra; visiting surfers have no court-backed right to walk in. Practical access is by boat (tours and transfers from Paraty, or local boats from the Vila Oratorio dock beside the condominium gate, around R$50 per leg on this stretch of coast) or on foot via the trail network from the Vila Oratorio road head at the end of the Laranjeiras road, the same BR-101 exit as Trindade. Boats stop in rough seas and the trail gets muddy after rain, so check locally in Paraty before going.
