A sheltered South Devon beach break with shifting lefts and rights, softer than nearby Bantham.

Bigbury is a sandy beach break on the Bigbury-on-Sea side of Bantham-Bigbury Bay in South Devon. Shifting sandbanks produce lefts and rights, including a long peeling right at lower tide. It is normally smaller and softer than Bantham, with a typical working range of 0.6-1.8 m. Southwest swells and northeast winds are preferred, while winter is the prime season because the sheltered beach needs sufficient swell. The beach can become very small or disappear around high tide, and the River Avon side has more power and water movement.
