Cochino is a mellow rock-and-sand beach break at Levittown on Puerto Rico's north coast, breaking only when a solid north swell arrives.
Cochino is a beach break over flat rock and sand in front of Levittown, on Puerto Rico's north coast west of San Juan. The spot works best with north to northeast swells and offshore winds from the south, but it needs a solid swell to get going and stays flat for long stretches. When it does break, the waves are soft, wide-faced peelers that can run for up to 100 metres, with better shape at mid to high tide. That mellow character makes it suitable for all levels, with the easiest waves on the inside. Crowds are light even on weekends, picking up only when a rare clean swell arrives. Access is relatively straightforward, but a cautious entry is advised due to the rocky bottom.
