Mellow Mediterranean beach break with short lefts and rights near the Mar Chica lagoon.
Boukana is a sandy beach break on the Mediterranean-facing spit between Beni Ensar and the Mar Chica lagoon. It offers both left- and right-breaking waves, generally producing short rides under 50 metres. The mellow wave suits longboarding and surfers of all levels, with beginners best served by small waves and light winds. Northeast swell is preferred, with some eastern swell also workable, and the break functions across all tide stages. September through November is the best season, although it can be surfed year-round.
