At higher stages of the tide a punchier section activates in front of the Aquarium, offering a bit more power than the estuary peak. The Baie de la Seine is a notoriously swell-hungry stretch of coast, sitting in the shadow of the Contentin Peninsula, so genuine surfable conditions remain infrequent - a solid W to NW groundswell is required to produce anything worthwhile. Deauville beach directly to the south-west offers an alternative peak on the same swell window.
