Beauvallon is a sand-bottom beach break tucked deeper into the Gulf of St-Tropez, producing a-frame peaks that pitch with some punch when the conditions align. The wave has a steeper, hollow face and wells up at times due to the shallow sandbanks, giving it more character than the typical Med beach offering. Rides run in the 50-100m range before sections close out. It needs a solid E or NE swell to push into the bay - easterly fetch is the engine here - and it stays properly offshore in Mistral conditions since the northwest wind is exactly what you want. That combination of a working swell and clean Mistral winds is genuinely rare, which keeps consistency low, but when it comes together the wave can be fast and genuinely hollow. The beach sits in a more sheltered position than St-Tropez proper, which tends to mean it catches a bit more size when E swell is running. Entry is straightforward off the sandy beach with no technical paddle-out. A free car park with roadside overflow handles the access side. When conditions fire, the limited number of good days per year concentrates a crowd quickly - surfers from across the Var know this spot and will appear. The summer period adds boat and jet-ski traffic through the bay. La Nartelle to the east is worth checking on the same swell.
