The Route des Sanguinaires runs west out of Ajaccio toward Parata Point, and along it sits a series of reef and point breaks that rank among Corsica's most consistent setups. The named sections — locally known as Chapelle des Grecs, Cimetière, and les CRS — each produce predominantly long right-handers over shallow, uneven reef. Waves are fast to medium-paced, with a punchy, steep character backed by well-up swell energy and wrapping lines that allow rides in the 100-200m range. Shape data shows a hollow tendency with steep faces, meaning the takeoff rewards commitment. The wide swell window from S through to NW means this stretch picks up a broad range of Atlantic and Mediterranean groundswells, and the geography provides meaningful shelter from NW winds, making northerlies the ideal offshore direction. The proximity to Ajaccio — the island's largest city — is both a blessing and a burden: it keeps the spot accessible year-round, but also feeds a tight-knit local crew that surfs here regularly and is protective of its waves. Roadside parking is free along the route, and the various breaks are visible from the road, making it straightforward to read conditions before paddling out.
