Ostriconi.

Ostriconi sits at the southern fringe of the Agriates desert, one of the most remote stretches of coastline on Corsica's north shore. The break is a sandy beachbreak where a snaking rivermouth shapes the sandbanks, producing a-frame peaks that peel left and right with medium pace. The wave face is generally well-covered and slopey rather than steep or punishing at smaller sizes, making it forgiving for intermediate surfers working on their turns. It needs a genuine W to NW groundswell to fire - a light W/NW component in the wind can also generate rideable waves, though conditions deteriorate fast as size builds. Above around 1.2m, the beach starts throwing disorganised lines of whitewash and rips run hard, stripping away its appeal quickly. Tidal stage has little bearing on quality, so any part of the cycle can work. Access is via a free car park and the beach itself is a straightforward paddle from the shore. The spot draws crowds only in July and August when the beach fills with summer visitors - outside those months it is genuinely quiet. When the Mistral kicks in and the swell kicks up, the action shifts south to Lozari, which handles more wind.
