Bottom contours are irregular, so the ride varies: some portions produce steeper, more committed faces while others back off and invite cutbacks. Optimal wave size runs from around 0.3 metres to 1.8 metres, and because the spot works across all tide stages there is no strict tidal window to chase. A south-westerly wind blows offshore here, cleaning up the faces during the short windows this place operates.
