A fast, hollow rock peak at the far end of Macumba, prized by bodyboarders for heavy, tubular walls over exposed reef.
Secreto is a rock reef peak at the western end of Praia da Macumba, where the Recreio bike path ends near the Pontal headland and the CCB campground. It throws heavy, fast walls that turn hollow on the right swell, with genuine barrels on its best days. Rio's bodyboard community discovered the peak in the 1990s, and it has hosted stages of the Circuito Recreio dos Bandeirantes de Bodyboard since, staying more a bodyboard proving ground than a shortboard destination. South to southwest swell lines the peak up, low tide keeps the rock exposed and working, and a north wind holds the face clean. Entry means a narrow trail past the campground and a steep, rocky staircase to the water, no formal ramp exists. On bigger south-southwest swells the takeoff pushes further out and a strong current runs near the rocks at the Rio Morto exit. The shallow rock bottom makes this unforgiving for anyone still learning to read reef breaks, and it stays a specialist's peak rather than a casual beginner lineup.
