Playa Jondal is a south-facing sand beach on the southwest coast of Ibiza that picks up SE through SW swells funnelling into the bay. The break produces shifting left and right peaks that are fat, slow and crumbly rather than hollow or punchy, with medium-paced walls that back off before completion. Wave length typically sits below 50 metres and takeoffs are easy, making the spot genuinely accessible to beginners. The bay faces away from the dominant northwest swell window that affects most of the Balearics, so surf arrives only after strong south winds or a well-developed south Atlantic or Mediterranean swell. A northerly offshore cleans up the faces when conditions align, which happens infrequently. Stormrider notes the break occasionally carries slightly more punch than the beachbreaks on Ibiza's north coast, though the overall wave quality remains low. Consistency is a limiting factor at a spot that sits largely dormant through long flat spells. Outside of the crowded summer beach season, access is straightforward with free car parking at the bay, and the water stays almost entirely uncrowded. Summer brings beach tourism and jellyfish but the wave itself rarely fires at that time of year.
