Boats Point.

Boats Point is a long right-hand pointbreak on the NW-facing desert coast between Sidi Ouarsik and Sidi Ifni in southern Morocco. The wave runs over an uneven reef and sand bottom, peeling 200 to 500 metres on the better sets with steep, hollow, barrelling sections and a critical takeoff. Slopey and bowly through the middle, it speeds up where the reef tightens, then walls out long across the shallow inside. The spot has lived in Moroccan surf folklore as a legendary secret point, sitting on a coast that is onshore most days and only switches on when SW through N groundswell meets a clean SE offshore. The break is named for two shipwrecks on the sand next to a creek mouth, which alongside the absence of any track signage are the only real landmarks. Access is strictly 4x4 down rough dirt tracks, and even with maps the spot is hard to locate. Crowd numbers stay near zero thanks to the access barrier and the patience needed to wait for the right wind.
