Skouw is a lesser-known surf spot near the Papua border, offering punchy reef breaks with long walls. The waves work best on medium to large south swells and are most consistent from April to October. The spot is rarely crowded due to its remote location, but the reef can be sharp and shallow. Access is by road from Jayapura, though the last stretch may be rough. Surfers should be mindful of strong currents and local fishing activity. The area is beautiful but services are minimal, so come prepared.
